Harrison Street Senior Housing, CCH's newest development, has just welcomed its first residents. It is located on a transit-oriented site in downtown Oakland. Forged by partnership with Oakland Housing Initiatives, this six-story property serves low and extremely low-income seniors through HUD’s Section 202/PRAC Program, the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, and Project Based Section 8 Vouchers from the Oakland Housing Authority.
Designed as a landmark building at the corner of Harrison and 17th Streets in downtown Oakland, this property is a major milestone for CCH’s smart growth efforts. Built on a former Chevron service station site, with close proximity to public transportation, this new senior community boasts a myriad of sustainable features, from environmentally preferable materials and water conservation fixtures, to advanced mechanical ventilation and a community garden. These features, coupled with sustainability education and practices, result in a healthy environment for our residents and staff.
