Sierra Meadows Ground Breaking
The project is sponsored by Visalia Senior Housing, a local faith-based non-profit, and Christian Church Homes, whose mission is Providing Affordable Quality Housing in Caring Communities. Visalia Senior Housing and Christian Church Homes have been partners since the 1970’s, dedicated to meeting the needs of low-income seniors with limited housing options. This project is being financed primarily through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly program, funding provided by the City of Visalia and Visalia Senior Housing, as well as, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco via the Visalia Community Bank.

On November 19th, 2009 CCH hosted the Ground Breaking at Sierra Meadows in Visalia, CA. This facility is the fourth senior housing project in Visalia for CCH and its partners - along with The Meadows (1970), Town Meadows ( 1981), and The Oak Meadows (2003). When completed, this new independent living community will offer 42 one bedroom apartments in a 2 story facility on a spacious 2.6 acre property
for senior citizens age 62 and older whose income is at or below 50% of the Area Median Income.
Sierra Meadows is an independent living community with many design features tailored to help seniors successfully Age in Place. This senior community is scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2011.
