Hotel Redding

Hotel ReddingAt the invitation of the City of Redding, CCH acquired this deteriorated historic Art Deco building using the highly competitive 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program and Redevelopment Agency funds. The project included converting the building from a troubled 91-unit SRO resident hotel into 49 quality affordable senior apartments. The rehabilitation preserved the architectural integrity of a valued physical asset along with the human assets–residents were relocated to better housing options or, if eligible, moved back into the restored senior community. As a dilapidated resident hotel, the building was an eyesore although a community landmark. Today, it is a community anchor and a catalyst for additional downtown redevelopment activity.

Hotel Redding residents enjoy relaxing in their sunny, central courtyard or strolling through the recently renovated Downtown Mall.  The beautiful Cascade Theatre is located across the street and "Cascade Square" is one block away.  Dining and shopping options abound.  The hotel itself, includes 5 commercial spaces: a restaurant, 2 beauty salons, a jewelry store, and a wellness center.

A board of local community members serves on CCH's behalf to provide ownership oversight and to ensure that the hotel is an integral part of downtown life.  Onsite staff bring in programs and services that enrich the lives of our senior residents.
