Inaugural Senior Art Exhibition Held at CCH Home Office

The event included over three dozen compelling pieces created by residents from four CCH communities. Earlier in the year, CCH had been awarded a grant from The San Francisco Foundation (TSFF) that was used to develop this pilot program providing arts programming for low-income seniors in the Bay Area.

Approximately 30 residents from St. Mary’s Garden and Westlake Christian Terrace in Oakland, Via Pacifica Gardens in Aptos and Plaza de Las Flores in Sunnyvale, graciously participated in this program. CCH aims to expand this initiative to include more residents in the future. Studies have shown that engaging seniors in quality activities and social relationships helps them to age more gracefully and in better health.

The current exhibition will run from November 2016 to April 2017. In May 2017, CCH will host another exhibition where more resident artists will have the opportunity to share their inspirations with the visiting public.
