CCH Works with Disciples Church to Build Affordable Housing

Laguna Honda Location

Christian Church Homes (CCH) and Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Services’ (NCPHS), in partnership with Forest Hill Christian Church, are planning to build 150 senior apartments on Laguna Honda Boulevard in the Forest Hill neighborhood of San Francisco.

The proposed project meets the voter approved Proposition A goals of creating new units, serving vulnerable senior and homeless senior households, and enhancing the livability of San Francisco through infill development with extended community benefits.

The planned community stands to provide significant new service-rich housing options for low income seniors, set a new model for redeveloping church properties that have underutilized buildings and dwindling congregational attendance, and be a landmark community resource for senior and community services in District 7 and the city at large.

CCH CEO and President Don Stump comments, “We are very excited to work in conjunction with the City of San Francisco. Together with Forest Hill Christian Church, we will bring affordable housing with supportive services as well as employment and resources to the local community. ”

Established in 1961, Christian Church Homes is a non-profit organization that has been building and managing affordable housing communities where seniors can live and thrive in the comfort of their own home. Having served over 100,000 seniors during its long history, CCH has now grown to 58 caring communities that are More Than A Home to residents in eight states. These communities benefit more than 5,000 seniors, as well as the local neighborhoods, towns and cities in which they live.
